Congratulations! You've reached the homepage of the Xelix project, which aims to create a fast, yet stable GPLv3+ licensed and POSIX compatible kernel.
Objective
We aim to make Xelix as fast as possible whilst still maintaining the needed stability. We want to implement networking as soon as possible as we think connectivity to the broader world is an important feature for a kernel nowadays. Also, we try to make Xelix as POSIX compatible as possible to make porting GNU/Linux applications easy.
Source Code
To obtain the source code, you can either clone our git repository or download a tarball of the latest git version. To compile, follow the steps in the README file that is included with the source tree.
Contributing
To contribute, it's best if you join our IRC channel #xelix at irc.libertirc.net. To actually commit code, grab a copy of our repository and either send a pull request or send a patch to the mailinglist – whichever of those two you prefer.
